A Weekend of Japanese Woodworking

Who Is Andrew Strome:

Andrew Strome has been an avid student of the craft for over 30 years. He started out carving treenware at the family cottage (which taught him to trust his eyes and fingertips) and progressed to building boats with his dad in their Scarborough basement. They once had to remove the gunwales of a pirogue to get it through the window, which taught them both the importance of careful measurement. He went on to study in the Heritage Carpentry program at Algonquin College and worked as a joiner in Toronto, specializing in heritage buildings and high-end new construction. For the last 13 years, he's been a Product Manager at Lee Valley. These days, his passion is learning to build guitars.
